Throughout my life, I’ve tended to be an intense, serious person, taking myself and situations very seriously and often overlooking the humor or fun I could be enjoying in the moment.
In fact, I remember getting annoyed at times when people would laugh or seem to be having a good time in the midst of what I perceived as a challenging situation.
I’m grateful that I’ve learned to relax more and laugh—at myself and at what’s happening around me.
Still, I can revert to that more familiar, comfortable response if I’m not aware or alert.
I chose this slogan because I like the combination of “enlighten” and “lighten” as they both have meaning for me.
When I remember to do those two things, I approach my work and life with a more playful attitude and with the confidence that I already have within me the ability to achieve any ambitious result I desire…and have fun in the process.
